Direct consultation services with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) are offered on-line for Behavior Advantage customers.  Sometimes an educational team needs clinical support to better define an existing problem, enhance objectivity, trouble-shoot, and develop practical solutions to address the challenge.  Consultation services are provided on-line using a video conferencing platform, with flexible scheduling to match the needs of the school day and team.

Practical Classroom Management

A strong link exists between teaching strategies and student behavior.  Educational and behavioral strategies are discussed to promote learning environments more likely to produce academic achievement and reduce interfering behaviors. 

Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Development

Federal law (IDEIA) requires school districts to conduct functional behavior assessments on behaviors that impede the student’s learning or that of others, and to use positive behavioral interventions and supports to address those behaviors. Consultation on specific students, regarding chronic behavior problems via the FBA/BIP process, is provided through a collaborative coaching model.  Consultation focuses on the process of conducting a FBA and BIP, clinical development of a FBA and BIP, and how to incorporate Behavior Advantage to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of these important procedures.  Data collection and progress monitoring are addressed as well.

Paraeducator Training and Supports

Paraeducators are sometimes faced with supporting the most challenging students, and yet they often lack the training necessary to manage these issues safely and effectively.  To work successfully with students, paraeducators require a specific skill set founded in evidence-based practices that are indispensible when instructing special education students.  Consultation provides customized support to address the immediate concerns of your paraeducators, as well as training to build capacity of your staff over time.
